At the foot of the Maurice Thorez estate building, a major emergency response system was deployed in the minutes following the start of the fire. There are 200 firefighters, 60 vehicles and a delicate intervention inside the building. The stairwell is hot, everything has gone up in smoke. Two firefighters were injured. In the fire, three people died, including a 13-year-old girl who, trapped by the flames, threw herself out of the window.
