The spouse of the woman killed on Tuesday in Chambray-lès-Tours (Indre-et-Loire) was indicted and imprisoned on Saturday, the Tours prosecutor’s office announced.
“Following the discovery of the lifeless body of a woman on August 29 on the public highway of the town of Chambray-Les-Tours, her spouse was indicted this afternoon (Saturday) on the count of murder by spouse , and remanded in custody,” said prosecutor Catherine Sorita-Minard.
The alleged perpetrator, born in 1965 in Baghdad, without a criminal record and arrested on Thursday, “recognizes an episode of violence, evoking reciprocal violence and denying any homicidal intention”, according to the magistrate, specifying that the investigations are continuing under the direction of an examining magistrate.
The lifeless body of a 57-year-old woman was found on Tuesday morning on the public highway in Chambray-lès-Tours, a town in the agglomeration of Tours. The couple had four children, one of whom is still a minor.
