Instagram is rolling out a feature to share a post exclusively to your close friends. In practice, this privacy option, similar in principle to that introduced in Stories in 2018, offers you the possibility of hiding your publications from users who are not part of your circle. The feature, already available to a large number of users, will soon be rolled out to everyone.

In any case, this is what Adam Mosseri observed: in a tweet, the boss of Instagram explains that users “post more Stories and send way more private messages than they post on their feed. »

Friends post a lot more to stories and send a lot more DMs than they post to Feed. If you want to make sure you never miss a feed post from a friend, add them to your favorites and they’ll show up at the top.

How do I share a post to my close friends list?

To restrict access to your post on Instagram, you need to follow these steps:

On the application home page, press the button + to create a new post,
After selecting your photo and making your edits, select the tab Hearing,
Check the option close friends,
If you haven’t already set up your list, click Add peoplethen check the users belonging to your circle,
Publish the post by clicking on Finished.

As specified in the application, post sharing to your close friends “does not affect the privacy of your account” if it is private, “nor does it change the sharing preferences for Facebook”. As a reminder, the people who are part of your list of close friends are identified by a green tag. In addition, the list is not publicly visible and can be configured beforehand:

On your Instagram profile page, click on the burger menu located at the top right of the screen,
