JVL Awards 2019: Discover our list of the best games of the year

While some may have been disappointed with this year compared to the previous one, where video games were able to accommodate software like God of War, Red Dead Redemption 2 or Forza Horizon 4, the fact remains that 2019 was rich.

In addition, and if we look more closely, there have been many more project projects that wanted to think outside the box, that took risks like Death Stranding, Control, Concrete Genie or Ancestors.

Congratulations to Death Stranding for its 7 well-deserved trophiesa winner who succeeds God of War and largely wins our votes.

  • Visual slap of the year

At a time when some may complain of a formatted industry that does not dare to take risks with sequels to the shovel, the new series of Hideo Kojima therefore appears as a necessary work. Stunningly beautiful to varying degrees, Death Stranding promises an adventure unlike any other that will touch and mark those who enjoyed it, making the player think who is no longer content with just being ‘a simple spectator/actor of a pre-chewed painting.

We will also remember, among other (many) things, this implementation of Low Roar’s music which greatly contributes to the immersion, and the soundtrack as a whole composed by the talented Ludvig Forssell of Kojima Productions.

Obviously, the other popular games are to be discovered without delay.
