Killer Instinct Anniversary Edition Launches November 28

Iron Galaxy has officially announced that the Killer Instinct Anniversary Edition will be available tomorrow, November 28. The update will feature fixes for many characters like Fulgore, Shin Hisako and more. The new edition will also replace the original Definitive edition with new aesthetics, features and the recent integrated patch.

Killer instinct is a beloved fighting game released on Xbox One. Microsoft and Double Helix launched the game in 2013 before Iron Galaxy took over development on Seasons 2 and 3. Fans have been hoping for a sequel to the Xbox Series X|S for years. The upcoming update is expected to breathe new life into the beloved fighting game.

On the official Killer Instinct Twitter/X account, they confirmed that the highly anticipated “Anniversary Edition” update will be available tomorrow, November 28. The update will be available at 12:00 p.m. PDT or 3:00 p.m. EDT. It will include several improvements and fixes for much of the game’s roster. Additionally, it will also feature new aesthetics, character artwork, and a free-to-play option on Steam.

The free KI base game will feature a free weekly rotating Fighter mode and Solo, Local, and Ranked modes. Furthermore, the Killer Instinct Anniversary Edition will replace the original Definitive edition. It will include all 29 fighters and all premium content ever released: the VIP Double XP booster, holiday accessories and much more.
