The Arizona Coyotes are regularly talked about off the ice and they were again on Wednesday, but for once the potential future arena of the lame National Hockey League franchise wasn’t the only topic of discussion.
In the statement confirming their intention to purchase land for the eventual construction of their next home, the ‘Yotes’ spoke of the ‘big additions’ made this summer to pique the interest of fans including Matthew Dumba, Jason Zucker and Alexander Kerfoot . But most importantly, they added to their nomenclature “the best prospect in the world”, Logan Cooley, their first-round pick in the 2022 draft.

It was enough for the organization to attract criticism and mockery from Internet users who were quick to remind them of the existence of a certain Connor Bedard, selected in the first row by the Chicago Blackhawks at this year’s amateur auction and considered by many to be a generational player. Some have obviously questioned the skills of the Coyotes’ social media team, which operates in a non-traditional hockey market.

Although he doesn’t have the same record as Bedard, Cooley did well last season recording 60 points in 39 games with the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers.
