League of Legends is going to change things up this year with an all-new pre-season system. But when can we expect the effects of preseason to change the meta?
This year, Riot is doing things a little differently than previous years. For this year’s 2024 pre-season, Riot will host it almost entirely on the public beta environment, instead of making changes to the live server over the Christmas holidays.
This is the first time they’ve done this, as a recent blog post revealed. Thanks to this post, we also found out when the 2024 League of Legends pre-season will take place. So how much time do you have left to create a PBE account?
LoL Pre-season 2024: when does the pre-season start?
As I just mentioned, the 2024 pre-season will be a bit different from previous years. This time around, Riot will only host the pre-season on the PBE, while extending the ranked season until January, when LoL Season 14 will begin.
The LoL Preseason 2024 will be added to the PBE on November 20, 2023. This will be the PBE for patch 13.24, with LoL patch 13.23 going live on November 21, 2023.

The PBE for patches 13.24 and 14.1 – which is slated for release on December 5, 2023 – will contain all of the tweaks and changes Riot is planning for the 2024 League of Legends season.
Then, with a new ranked season, Riot will release all the new stuff to the live servers with patch 14.1 which should be released on January 9, 2023.
So if you want to get off to a good start in the competition, be sure to create a PBE account so you can test out the new terrain changes, as well as other adjustments Riot is planning for LoL Season 14.
