New Balance launches a series of new sneakers that are already damaged (and we love them)

The New Balance 550s are back in the spotlight! While the model created in the 1990s is often considered a flop upon its release, the latter has been reborn from its ashes in recent years and is gradually establishing itself on everyone’s feet. A return that we owe in particular to Teddy Santis, artistic director of New Balance since 2021, who looked at the famous sneaker to release a version brought up to date. Since then, the brand from Boston in the United States has made it one of its flagship models and continues to innovate.

In order to continue riding the wave of this success, New Balance has decided to release a 100% nostalgic pack with the Distressed series. For this new sneaker drop, the brand has opted for an aged and worn look but just as effective, and which is available in three colors: red, gray and brown. The real fashion touch of this series lies in the use of the famous “N” logo, partly devoid of its colors and which gives a real retro inspiration. On the tongue side, the usual presence of “NB” takes up the colors of the shoe as does the back on the heel.

No release date or pricing has been announced at this time. 550 fans will however be able to obtain new pastel models (€160) on newbalance.fr.
