Nintendo Switch: A class action lawsuit over Joy-Con problems

More and more players are faced with latency and disconnection issues, when the character or the camera are not moving on their own, without prior input. It must be said that the Joy-Con, equipped with sensors, an accelerometer and a gyroscope, increase the risk of malfunction.

Nintendo is trying to respond with system updates, but not sure that’s enough, especially if the main problem is with the switch. The Japanese firm is also reactive in the management of defective equipment, but faced with the increase in complaints, legal action is possible.

In effect, the law firm Chemicals Schwartz Kriner & Donaldson-Smith is considering a class actionAnd putting a specific form online. Complainants could obtain financial compensation.

CSK&D is considering class action against Nintendo of America regarding claims relating to alleged defects in Nintendo Switch Joy-Con controllers. The complaint (…) alleges that the joysticks of the Joy-Con controllers are faulty, leading users to experience bypass issues. Specifically, the complaint alleges that the joystick on Joy-Con controllers involves movement when the joystick is not controlled by the user, and interferes with gameplay.

For its part, Nintendo recognizes that a malfunction affects the Joy-Con, but has not yet officially expressed itself on this subject.
