Noragami Season 3 is one of the most anticipated sequels in all of anime. But is it going to happen?
Despite Noragami releasing to great acclaim, quickly becoming a cult classic, the series all but ended after two seasons. Despite this, fans still haven’t given up on a potential sequel and as things stand, it’s not impossible that we’ll get the highly anticipated Noragami season 3.
Just in case you need a quick recap of the story (I mean, it’s been a while since the series’ initial release): Noragami follows Yato, a lesser-known deity who struggles for sanctuary and acknowledgement. After inadvertently meeting Hiyori, a human with a unique condition, and Yukine, his troubled spirit weapon, the trio have their share of adventures in the spirit world.
Noragami Season 3: Everything We Know So Far
Considering that Noragami released its second season in 2015, it’s no wonder fans are wondering if the series was canceled. But until now there is no official statement regarding this.

So Noragami fans rejoice, as the popular anime might get another season, it might take a while. If we simply look at Blue Exorcist, we can see that even though a series may be shelved for a while, that doesn’t mean it has been canceled.
But what are the reasons why Noragami has been sidelined for so long?
It’s pretty simple, honestly. The animation studio that worked on Noragami when it was first released, Studio Bones, has been very busy with other high-profile projects like My Hero Academia or Mob Psycho 100. This means they simply didn’t have not really have the time or ability to take on another project, especially one that might be less profitable.
Although the series has been well-received by fans, sales have dropped significantly since its initial release, making it less likely that studios and publishers will invest in another season.
With the current state of affairs, it’s unlikely that Noragami will get another season, but you can never rule out the possibility of it still happening. Especially if fans prove that another season is in high demand!
