After a year 2015 where Paris Games Week was in the spotlight thanks to the Sony conference and a larger show, the organizer of the show presents its new measures for the next edition which will be held from October 27 to 31, 2016 at the Porte de Versailles Exhibition Center in Paris.
First of all, the show continues to grow bigger and bigger year after year with 80,000 m² (compared to 60,000 last year for 307,000 people) for Paris Games Week 2016. The event will be spread across halls 1, 2.1, 2.2 and 3, for a total of 30% additional surface area.
Between the scale of the show and the terrorist risks that France is experiencing, the exhibition security teams have been reinforced. Like gamescom this year (only for bags), visitors and bags will be systematically checked with a passage through metal detectorsas well as a search of vehicles will be carried out.
Dog teams (with dogs specialized in detecting explosives) will be present at the show. Like last year, cosplayers should refrain from wearing a costume with realistic replica firearms.
SELL is keen to ensure the safety of visitors, but also more space with an increase in space of 30%. Let’s hope that this effort will be continued every year, because the French show remains very far from the size of Gamescom, although attendance is quite similar.
