Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced that PlayStation’s convenient Twitter/X integration will no longer be available on PS4 and PS5 starting November 13, 2023. This includes the ability to share content captured from PlayStation consoles to Twitter/X.
Twitter/X integration has been available on PlayStation systems for almost a decade now, allowing gamers to share moments and screenshots from their games with friends and audiences. The feature became especially important during the PS4 generation, and it was available again on PS5 when the system launched in 2020. Unfortunately, this feature will no longer be available in a week.
Twitter/X integration on PS4 and PS5 disappears
An official notice from PlayStation has been sent to all players, confirming that Twitter/X integration will no longer be supported on PS4 and PS5 starting November 13. Sony hasn’t given an exact reason for removing the feature, but it’s safe to assume that’s the case. due to new API policy/changes adopted by Twitter/X led by Elon Musk. These API changes involve a significantly increased pricing system, which essentially removed support for other integrated apps and services during 2023.
