Resident Evil 7: an iconic character would be back (SPOILER)

Do you think Resident Evil 7’s “Beginning Hour” demo revealed all its mysteries? Some snoops on Reddit think otherwise, with evidence to back it up. Indeed, after their various researches, it seems that a major character is still in the game for this part.

What follows is clearly considered a spoiler, and we advise you to stop reading in order to keep the surprise intact.

Who is this protagonist likely to return?

Several files refer to the first name “Albert” as… Albert Wesker! Obviously, anyone could be called Albert, but in Capcom’s franchise, it goes much further than that and the man is a centerpiece of the Resident Evil universe. Additionally, we can read in other places:

“LastBossGetAlbert”
“LastBossFinishGetGun”

Two sentences which would suggest that Wesker would serve as the final boss for this new iteration. On the NeoGAF side, user Jawmuncher spotted the following things:

If the clues all point in the same direction, it should be clarified that the information unearthed will not necessarily appear in the final product. A clarification to avoid drawing plans on the comet, which would lead to possible disappointments.
