Update:
A retired builder today told how a car crashed into his house following a rampage that killed two people – one of them named as a father-of-two.
Police announced this morning that a man arrested on suspicion of murder had been made subject to the Mental Health Act.
One of those killed was cyclist and hospital support worker Joel Carriedo, who was cycling home from University Hospital of Coventry and Warwickshire after working night shifts.
Mr. Carriedo, 47, from the Philippines, was described this afternoon as “A wonderful person, very kind and sweet”.
A friend added: “It’s a tragedy. He was cycling home from a night shift and had just returned to work after spending a vacation with his family.
“He was so well liked, a brilliant father and colleague. We will miss him.
Retired builder Barry Dean today told how a car crashed into his house following a rampage

Mr Dean opened his front door and found the wreckage of a black Mercedes in his drive, surrounded by bricks and rubble.
Meanwhile, the man whose driver crashed into the house has broken his silence.
Barry Dean, 76, was watching the match of the day on television yesterday morning when he heard a huge crash.
He opened his front door and found a wrecked black Mercedes on his driveway, surrounded by bricks and rubble.
The car had left a large crack in front of his home in Coventry.
The driver had fled by the time Mr Dean got out and a man was later arrested by police near some local flats.
A 44-year-old pedestrian and Mr Carriedo died after being hit by the same car minutes earlier.
Mr Dean said today: “It shook me out of my seat.
“I was sitting watching the match of the day and all of a sudden there was a huge crash and the house shook.
“I immediately got up and went to get the keys to the front door. I opened and found the smoking wreckage of a black Mercedes.

West Midlands police were called to Gosford Street near Coventry city centre. A 44-year-old pedestrian and cyclist died after being hit by a car in separate crashes

The car hit a house in Beckbury Road, Coventry, after a pedestrian and a cyclist were killed when hit by a vehicle.
“The car partially destroyed my fuse box, so I have now cut off the electricity and gas. There is a lot of damage on the front of the house, where the hallway and the dressing room are. I built this house myself, it’s disgusting.
“Fortunately my wife was out at the time, she had gone to a garage sale shortly before.
“By the time I opened the door and saw what had happened, the driver had managed to get out of the wreckage and fled.
“A man walking nearby who was going to see this happen called the police and they arrived about five minutes late. There must have been a dozen cars, police dogs, a drone and even the helicopter was in place.

The car crashed into a house on Beckbury Road. An hour later, police arrested a 33-year-old man who is currently in custody and questioned by officers.
West Midlands Police say a man arrested on suspicion of murder was made subject to the Mental Health Act.
A spokesman said: “We arrested a 33-year-old man in Beckbury Road following a series of collisions in the town at around 8am yesterday morning (3 September).
“A 44-year-old pedestrian who was struck on Gosford Street and a 47-year-old cyclist who was struck on Woodway Lane have sadly died of their injuries.
“Our hearts go out to the families and friends of those who tragically lost their lives, and we will do all we can to support them during this deeply distressing time.
“Another pedestrian struck on Gosford Street has been treated for non-life threatening injuries.
“We are not looking for anyone else in connection with what happened and from the information we have it is not considered to be terrorism related. »
“Our investigations are continuing and anyone who can help us is asked to contact us. »
