A few days from the end of meteorological autumn, the cold has set in in France. This Monday, November 27, the drop in temperatures increased, according to Météo France, which occasionally announces the return of rain and wind, or even snow in the plains.
Thus, the trend at the start of the weekend is confirmed. The cold air, coming from the north of France, spreads throughout the country. This cold air caused the first frosts and the rain-snow limit dropped significantly. For this Monday, the frosts, even if they are of low intensity for the moment, have spread over the eastern half of France. Temperatures felt are between -2 and 0 degrees.
In the west, minimum temperatures vary from 0 to 4 degrees. There are 5 to 11 on the Atlantic coast, on the Mediterranean coast and in Brittany. Regarding maximum temperatures, they should display 4 to 8 degrees from the northeast quarter to Auvergne and 9 to 16 degrees elsewhere, indicates Météo France.
Snow, rain and wind await you
This Monday, the disturbance that arrived the day before via Brittany is circulating in this fresh air. The weather will therefore be rough across most of France with rain, showers and snow. As a result, Météo France is keeping Pas-de-Calais on orange alert for flooding and placing many departments on yellow alert for snow-ice and others for flooding or rain-flooding. The departments of Ain, Ardennes, Doubs, Jura, Haute-Marne, Meurthe-et-Moselle, Meuse, Moselle, Haute-Saône, Savoie, Haute-Savoie and the Vosges are thus on snow-ice yellow alert.
The Mediterranean region is however expected to maintain dry weather while the disturbances are expected to bring rainy weather to a large part of the west of the country. The precipitation which will arrive in the north-east in the morning will temporarily take on a snowy character from the first heights, with locally 1 to 3 centimeters of snow from the Ardennes towards the north of the Lorraine plateau, warns Météo France. Snow will be abundant in the Vosges and the Jura.
Furthermore, the regions of Brittany towards Hauts-de-France will be affected by showers which will settle in behind the afternoon disturbance. These rains will be accompanied by a west to northwest wind which will sometimes be quite strong. It should blow near the Channel coast and on the Aquitaine coast.
