Shadow of the Colossus: the PS4 remake presents its photo mode in pictures

Unlike the previous version of Shadow of the Colossusthe PS4 edition will be a real remake as evidenced by the work done by the teams of Bluepoint Games, who have taken another step forward in the art of revisiting key PlayStation games. Apart from revised graphics and the presence of 4K, Shadow of the Colossus on PS4 will have a photo mode described as “exceptional”.

This term was used by Mark Skeltonart director on the game, in a post on PlayStation Blog:

What makes Photo mode so exceptional is its power and flexibility. It’s as if we had integrated a whole suite of photo editing software into the game! As players, you will have access to everything that I myself had access to as art director. You can apply a filter and then adjust all the parameters of your photo, be it colors, shadows, midtones and highlights. And that’s not all: you can change the extent and size of the depth of field, in addition to the thumbnail. You can do whatever you want, it’s amazing.

Skelton adds that camera control is child’s play, and allows you to switch from player to horse in the blink of an eye, thus offering multiple possibilities. He tells us that the camera can be rotated 90° for portrait mode captures, and screenshots can be exported to your phone as wallpaper. Finally, filters that radically modify the image can be activated, even in the middle of the game!
