A disturbing video shows the moment a father let his 11-year-old son fly his private plane – while drinking beer – shortly before the two were killed in a crash.
Brazilian authorities are now investigating whether the incident took place before they were killed in the lethal plunge.
Brazilian rancher Garon Maia, 42, and his 11-year-old Francisco Maia, died after the $1.2 million twin-engine Beechcraft Baron 58 crashed in a forest between the states of Rondônia and Mato Grosso on July 29.
It is not known when the video in question was published by Garon Maia on his social networks.
He can be seen sitting in the co-pilot’s seat and explaining to Francisco Maia how to operate the plane as he accelerated down the dirt runway.
Grief-stricken, his wife Ana Pridonik committed suicide after the funeral.
