Their dream trip turned out to be the disappointment of their lives.
The Turkish company Miray Cruises, although little known to the general public, had succeeded in a marketing coup by offering a three-year luxury cruise aboard a cruise ship, covering nearly 210,000 kilometers and allowing visitors to visit 140 countries. All for a relatively affordable cost: from 35,000 euros per year. To offer it to you, some passengers did not hesitate to sell all their property, including their house.
This bold project ultimately failed when the company decided to simply cancel the tripas reported CNN. It must be said that disappointments were beginning to pile up for Life at Sea Cruises, the subsidiary of Miray Cruises which supervised this cruise. And for good reason: lack of resources, she failed to buy the boat she wanted, the MS AIDAaurawhich has the 111 cabins necessary to accommodate tourists.
Before that, the company’s director, Kendra Holmes, resigned earlier this month. Then it is the departure date of the trip who had been postponed November 17 then November 30. The boarding location too: Amsterdam rather than Istanbul.
Concerning the aggrieved passengers, Miray Cruises promised to repay. The company indicates that it will make repayments in monthly installments from mid-December to the end of February. She also offered to pay for accommodation until the beginning of next month and return flights for those stranded in Istanbul.
