A few days before its initial release, Electronic Arts announced that it wanted to sell 6 to 8 million copies for its Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order. The editor can take out the champagne or the liters of blue milk, the mission has been accomplished!

At the time of their assessment, EA entrusted to have reached the high range of their forecasts, implying that it would have already passed over 8 million copies.

As reported by analyst and insider Daniel Ahmad (ZhugeEx), the company now hopes to cross 10 million by March 31, 2020.

On the conference call they mentioned that they have already hit the high end of the original projection.

Which would mean that sales today are already above 8 million.

Unexpected success? Not really. First, and despite proven flaws, the quality of this totally solo title has been praised by both the press and the players. Secondly, we had to remember that despite a very bad reputation at the start and for a very long time, Star Wars Battlefront II had still convinced 7 million buyers in a few weeks. Admittedly, this was a cold shower vis-à-vis the objectives, but the software was able to count on the aura of its name not to be a commercial flop.

A bright future with strength at its highest for all profiles? That’s what it would seem. In addition to sharing the sales figures, Electronic Arts obviously shared its desire to pursue multiplayer games… but is also considering other fully single-player titles like Jedi Fallen Order.

On the conference call they said that they will plan to expand the Star Wars IP in order to meet the demands of the broad player base.

In other words they’ll continue to release live service games that are multiplayer focused, but also consider more single player titles too.

However, let’s cross our fingers to avoid a Star Wars: Revenge of the Lootboxes in this quest for Game As A Service! And of course apps for single-players as qualitative as the latest release.
