Super Mario Run: an update on downloads and the game

On December 15, Nintendo made its second foray into mobile, after the very disappointing Miitomo application, whose revenues collapsed very quickly. Finally, the plumber’s firm comes back to a sure bet: Mario.

Unlike Miitomo, Super Mario Run is currently only available on iOS devices, but will arrive in 2017 on Android. Obviously, the launch was a success, since the game has more than 40 million downloads in just 4 days. If the figure may be impressive, it should be put into perspective given that it does not mean that the players have gone to the cash register. Indeed, everyone can load it on their iPhone or iPad, and enjoy the first 5 levels of the initial world, but if you want to continue, you will have to pay €9.99. Unfortunately, no more precise data is known to date, Nintendo not wishing to communicate on this subject.

In addition, it ranks in pole position for “free” software in 140 countries, and joined the top 10 most profitable applications in the Apple store in more than 100 territories.

Furthermore, Super Mario Run has since welcomed a multiplayer mode, to satisfy any people disappointed by the content. In it you can compete against other competitors from your friends list through wild races.
