Square Enix has revealed new details about the online features and modes found in the turn-based monster-fighting RPG Dragon Quest Monsters: The Black Prince. Players will have access to these features in about a month.
Dragon Quest fans will soon embark on a new journey as Psaro, a familiar name from Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen. A powerful curse prevents Psaro from harming monsters, but the anti-hero gains valuable allies and powers that will aid him in his quest. Players can also help Psaro and his group through several online features.
Dragon Quest Monsters: The Black Prince Online Features
First, Square Enix confirms that online matches will return to the series with Dragon Quest Monsters: The Black Prince alongside various new features. These features include the online store and Quickfire contests, which are automatic battles using group data. Fizzy is an expert in Monster Wrangler training and the Internet, so players can talk to her at Rosehill Tower to get an overview of online options and DLC.
Players who do well in online battles and Quickfire contests can earn several rewards, including new monsters and rare items. Players can compete against other players in ranked battles. As you climb the ranks, you get rare accessories and other items to upgrade monsters. Friend Matches allow players to fight against friends in less competitive matches. Additionally, players can hold multiplayer single-elimination tournaments with up to eight players.
In Quickfire competitions, data from registered groups can be used to automatically wage battles in massive competitions. Players can earn rewards from a Quickfire competition once per day. These rewards include items that increase monster stats. After completing a contest, players can review the details of each battle and view opposing group data to organize practice matches for practice.
Gold coins earned throughout Psaro’s adventure can be used to obtain items in the online store, which updates its stock daily based on the actual time. Items can also change as the story progresses. Items available in the online store include special scrolls that teach monsters new talents. Square Enix encourages players to check the online store regularly to discover what’s new.
Lately, Dragon Quest Monsters: The Black Prince will launch on December 1st for Nintendo Switch and pre-orders are now available physically at retail and digitally via the Nintendo eShop. Pre-orders include the Head Start set including 1 Stardust Earrings, 1 Scholar’s Specs and 5 Bonus Balls.
