It has now been 30 years since the Final Fantasy license has taken players from all over the world with a sizable fan base.
Today, the saga offered itself three world records which were approved by Guinness World Records during the Final Fantasy XIV European Fan Festival in Frankfurt:
- Most prolific role-playing serieswith 87 different games at present.
- Most original music tracks in a video game (expansion included), with no less than 384 exclusive tracks recorded for the game (including 104 for the Heavensward expansion released in 2015).
- Longest end credits in an MMO for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, with 1h 38 minutes. Indeed, the names of the players of the first Final Fantasy XIV appear in addition to the names of the developers, which explains the length of the credits.
We can say that Square Enix will have deserved these rewards as the publisher was able to quickly relaunch its MMO Final Fantasy XIV after the failure of the first version. And this success is not about to stop with the arrival of the Stormblood expansion on June 20, 2017.
