A project still in its early stages
The e-commerce giant’s streaming platform strikes a big blow with this revelation published on Twitter with a sober message “God of War is coming” (God of War is coming, editor’s note). The result of several months of discussions between Sony and Amazon, this partnership will give rise to the first small screen adaptation of one of the most popular video game licenses in the history of video games. According to DeadlineMark Fergus and Hawk Ostby, creators of the series The Expansewill be accompanied by Rafe Judkins, showrunner of The Wheel of Time, in order to materialize in live shots the adventures of the Greek god who has since ventured into Nordic mythology with his son Atreus. Obviously, Sony Pictures Television and the recent Playstation Studios, which is responsible for keeping an eye on the adaptations of franchises into films and other series, will also support the project. Proof that art inspires art, and video games seem to be integrating more and more into popular culture while enjoying the glory days of streaming platforms and film studios.
