The PS4 has sold almost 6.5 million units in Japan

Since its release in November 2013 in the West, the PS4 has established itself as THE console of this generation in terms of sales. In total, more than 75 million consoles have been sold worldwide and the dynamics are still excellent more than four years after its initial release. Today, an impressive new data comes to us straight from Japan.

Our Japanese friends had to wait until February 22, 2014 before being able to put their hands on the PS4, but this little delay did not prevent sony to know a real success story with his console in the land of the rising sun. Thus, the latest figures announce thatapproximately 6.5 million PS4s have been sold in Japan (6,485,416 to be exact). 2017 was an excellent year with 2,083,974 copies sold in the country.

This is the best year for the PS4 in Japan. During the first 12 months, 1,143,542 units had found takers, then 1,364,681 during the second year and finally 1,893,219 in 2016. The console keeps getting better and with the upcoming release of a certain Kingdom Hearts III, Japan is still likely to favor the PS4.
