The PS4 was a hit during the holiday season 2017, the numbers in detail

For the end of year celebrations, from November 20 to December 31, 2017, Sony Interactive Entertainment announces that it has sold 5.9 million PS4s worldwide. If we add this performance to the previous total, we find that the PS4 has reached 73.6 million units sold worldwide. As a reminder, it was at 70.6 million on December 3, 2017. Compared to 2016, we can note a slight drop since the PS4 had been sold to the tune of 6.2 million copies.

The software part is not outdone, since the manufacturer declares that more than 55.9 million PS4 games found takers during the same period, a score that includes physical and digital sales. Overall, and still as of December 31, 2017, no less than 645 million softs that have reached the homes of players since the release of the console.

The PlayStation Plus has taken a step forward to exceed 31.5 million users, and set its highest sales record in December 2017.
