Toys For Bob (Spyro, Crash Bandicoot) teases a new game

Last June, insiders claimed to have heard of a new game in the offices of Toys for Bob. According to Jez Corden, a multiplayer battle game set in the Crash Bandicoot universe, Wumpa League, was to be announced during the summer shows. If the information has not been confirmed (nor denied by the way), the studio belonging to Activision has apparently just teased a new production to add to his “hunting list”.

Originally known for the excellent Pandemonium with Crystal Dynamics, Toys for Bob was acquired by Activision in 2005 to handle the Tony Hawk license with Tony Hawk’s Downhill Jamthen finally to launch its own Skylanders license. The studio also relaunched Spyro and Crash Bandicoot in 2018.

What will Microsoft do with Toys For Bob?

Only here, at Activision, absolutely all the studios were repatriated on the only successful license, Call of Duty, in 2021. TfB was therefore a new support studio for Warzone. After some protests from former members of the team, Activision had announced that this did not prevent the team from working on its other licenses.

Since then, Activision-Blizzard has been bought by Microsoft, which no doubt has different wills and ambitions with this historic studio. So, Wumpa League or a new Spyro 4? We should know more soon…
