Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong returns to video on its RPG component

THE Future Games Show organized by gamesradar on March 24 will have enabled Nakon to highlight the next title of Big Bad Wolf (The Council) taking place in the universe of world of darkness created in 1991 by White Wolf. With the release of Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong now fast approaching, communication around the game is accelerating.

After gradually presenting the three main protagonists that you will play in turn (Leysha, Galeb and Emem), the Bordeaux studio had detailed its fundamental principles last month before showing us its gameplay last week. He returns this time with a video that focuses more precisely on narrative RPG mechanics of the title already mentioned.

The 3 vampires, with whom you will lead the investigation into the attacks suffered by the Boston Camarilla, have, like all NPCs, their own character sheet that will evolve based on your actions and the decisions you make. Each has its own own attributes but can also acquire the skills of your choice allowing for example to cross a door either by unlocking it, or by persuading someone to let you pass. Your way to approach the game therefore relies heavily on the orientation you give to each character.

You also have vampiric powers called Disciplines that you can evolve (Galeb can resist physical attacks, Emem can use Celerity to go to inaccessible places, Leysha can see the future or make herself invisible…). But be careful, for this you will have to appeal to your willwhich will increase your bloodlust which, if not satisfied, could make you to lose control and thus betray the Masquerade.

Finally, Traits and Talents will also have their influence in the form bonus or penalty. The first are based on your decisions as on the success or failure of your actionsand the latter on the respect for a style of play over time. The video ends with dialogue fights which recall what has already been done in The Council. These confrontations will sometimes have major consequences and will be based on a die roll in the event of a tie.

All these elements will, according to Nacon, lead to over 15 different endings that we can discover from May 19, 2022 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series And Switch.
