Is Microsoft trying to divert our attention? In order to make us forget these last difficult weeks, the firm announced the date of the next Xbox Showcase which will be held in a little over a month. This event will be followed by the Starfield Direct to give us a deeper look at Bethesda’s space RPG.
Microsoft is going through a difficult period at the start of the year: declining console sales and the catastrophic launch of the Redfall exclusive, which makes the situation tense for Xbox. Nevertheless, the firm with the green brand does not intend to be defeated and announces its Xbox Games Showcase, which could well be a game-changer and restore confidence to its community of players.
Xbox Games Studios and Bethesda on a war footing?
The Xbox Games Showcase will take place this summer, and more precisely on June 11 at 7 p.m. (French time), according to a recent post on Twitter. As we can see lately, Microsoft is trying as hard as it can to improve its communication with its gaming community. In effect, in a press release that accompanies the reveal of the date, the American firm mentions the fact that “new surprises and new looks from our incredibly talented in-house studios” but also “this is the day that gamers have been waiting to see what will come to Xbox , PC and Game Pass”. This proves Microsoft’s desire to highlight upcoming games and turn the page on recent weeks.
⚠️ Spoiler Alert: we’ll be talking about games.

But the event does not stop there, since it will continue on June 13 with the presentation of the Starfield Direct, offering more details on the new space RPG game from Bethesda Game Studios. It will include gameplay details, testimonials from the game developers, images and exclusive information. Not to mention, Starfield is considered the must-have AAA game that Microsoft badly needs to raise the bar.
Phil Spencer, head of Xbox, promised us an exceptional year, and still has time to deliver on that promise by announcing game-changing exclusives. The Xbox Games Showcase will be streamed on Youtube and Twitch.
