Yuffie and Vincent will be fully integrated into the Rebirth story

In an interview with GameSpark, Tetsuya Nomura explained what Yuffie and Vincent’s roles will be. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. In the 1997 original, both were completely optional members of the party.

You can complete the game without them and never know they were available. However, the team is changing that with Renaissance to fully integrate both into the main story.

This will be a great addition to Renaissance. With the Remake project, the team hopes to expand on each character and build them like never before, through voice acting and expressions. Nomura mentions that he wants the relationships with these characters to deepen. This will be done through interactions with other party members and the potential expansion of Yuffie and Vincent’s past in Renaissance. We’ve already seen some of this with Episode INTERmission, a DLC expansion in which Yuffie plays the role of the main character.

In an interview with Denfaminico, director Naoki Hamaguchi said that they moved to a fixed location for the meeting with Yuffie. The team hopes that you will feel a deeper connection with her character since she now enters at a fixed time.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is the sequel to the critically acclaimed film Final Fantasy VII Remake. This is the second entry in the Remake Project, a collection of three games recreating and reimagining the story and world of Final Fantasy VII. The first game was originally announced at E3 2015 during Sony Interactive Entertainment’s PlayStation show. Final Fantasy VII Remake then launched worldwide exclusively on PlayStation 4 on April 10, 2020. Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergradean expanded and improved version of the PS4 title, was announced for PlayStation 5 the following year.

Then the news of the second title was revealed to the Final Fantasy VII 25th Anniversary Stream in June 2022. The news remained quiet until this summer, when a new trailer showcasing the world and gameplay was released at Summer Game Fest. A huge amount of information has been confirmed, including confirmation of Vincent & Cid not being playable, a “new episode with Zack”, the game’s file size, and much more.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is set to launch exclusively on PlayStation 5 on February 29, 2024. The title will be exclusive to the platform until May 29, 2024. A Standard Edition, Deluxe Edition, and Collector’s Edition are available for pre-order now.
