Electronic Arts CEO Andrew Wilson revealed during a financial report that the following Battlefieldgame is due out late next year. The release is expected to be in November at the latest, in time for the Christmas season of 2021.

Nothing is known about the content and theme of the new game. Wilson does proclaim that, thanks to the power of the new console generation, the next Battlefield will be “on a bigger scale than ever.” It is not clear whether he thereby refers to larger levels or something else. We also do not know at the moment whether the game will also come to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

According to Wilson, an official announcement for the game will follow in the spring of 2021. In any case, the game is in full development. Earlier this year, developer DICE also stopped development of new content for Star Wars Battlefront 2 and Battlefield 5 to focus fully on the new game.

In any case, the release at the end of next year seems to be fixed. “We have given the developer an additional year of development time so they can realize their next-gen vision for the game. We are confident that we will meet the deadline,” said Wilson.
