CD Projekt Red announced today that the update that will bring the Cyberpunk 2077 upgrade to next-gen consoles will be released in early 2022.

The information was revealed on the company’s website, where not only was an update on the launch of the upgrade patch for Cyberpunk 2077, but also for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

In the text, CD Projekt says that it “would like to provide an update” on its 2021 publishing schedule, more specifically on the two games in question in their PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions.

The text states that the company’s Board of Directors “announce that, based on recommendations provided by persons overseeing the development it was decided to allocate additional time to both projects”.

Thus, the company “currently intends to release the version of Cyberpunk 2077 for the new generation in the first quarter of 2022”.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt PS5 and Series X|S upgrade patch, according to CD Projekt, is scheduled to arrive in the second quarter of next year.

When released in September last year, Cyberpunk 2077 found itself shrouded in controversy. The title hit the market with much lower quality than expected, with several bugs, glitches and even performance so bad that the game could barely be played on the base versions of PS4 and Xbox One.

On PC, PS4 Pro and Xbox One X it was possible to run the title without major performance problems, but bugs and other problems persisted.
