In the last Nintendo Direct presentation, Nintendo has unveiled more than 30 games coming to the gaming systems in the Nintendo Switch family. Many of the games featured will be released before the summer! The highlight of the approximately 50-minute presentation was the unveiling of Splatoon 3, a new game in the colorful series, which is coming to Nintendo Switch in 2022.

Other major news from Nintendo Direct was the reveal of Pyra / Mythra from Xenoblade Chronicles 2 as the new playable DLC fighter for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate – the fourth of the six fighters in Fighters Pass 2. Several other Nintendo games were also announced, such as The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD, which features new control options; Mario Golf: Super Rush, the latest addition to the Mario Golf series with new game modes and motion controls; and Miitopia, a game where customizable Mii characters take the lead in a customizable adventure.

The packed Nintendo Direct presentation also revealed many new games, including Project TRIANGLE STRATEGY (working title), a new tactical RPG from SQUARE ENIX; Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout, where players compete for the crown; Star Wars: Hunters, a free-to-play online multiplayer game set between the events of Star Wars ™: Return of the Jedi and Star Wars ™: The Force Awakens; World’s End Club from the creators of the Danganronpa series; DC Super Hero Girls: Teen Power, an action game based on the anime show; and a game card version of the popular Hades.

  • Splatoon 3: In this new game in the Splatoon series, you leave Inkopolis behind for a new area: the Splatlands. At the center of this region is Splatsville, a new town known as the “City of Chaos” where Inkling and Octoling veterans converge. Splatoon 3 introduces several new features to the action shooter series, including weapons such as the bow, customization options and new actions for the recurring four-on-four Ground Wars. More information will be provided in the future about the sequel, which is coming to Nintendo Switch in 2022.
  • Pyra / Mythra Join Super Smash Bros. Ultimate: Pyra / Mythra, originally appearing in Xenoblade Chronicles 2 as Rex’s two-in-one ally, will awaken in March as the new DLC fighter in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Pyra / Mythra is part of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Fighters Pass Vol. 2, which also includes DLC fighters Min Min from ARMS, Steve and Alex from Minecraft and Sephiroth from FINAL FANTASY VII, as well as two upcoming fighters. More information about the Pyra / Mythra attacks and the exact release date will be provided in the future.
  • The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD:The game originally released for Wii in 2011, which puts a magnifying glass on the beginnings of The Legend of Zelda timeline and the origins of the Master Sword, is coming to Nintendo Switch as The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD, with smoother and more intuitive controls and improved frame rate and graphics. In this updated version of the game, which runs at 60 frames per second, decide whether you want to use the motion controls with two Joy-Con controllers, similar to the original game, or if you prefer to play with the button controls with a Nintendo Switch -Pro controller, in handheld style or on the Nintendo Switch Lite. In addition to the game, a set of Joy-Con controllers with a special design will be released: the right Joy-Con is designed in the style of the Master Sword, while the left Joy-Con has a Hylian shield motif. The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD, which is also fully playable in Dutch for the first time, and the special Joy-Con controllers will be released for the Nintendo Switch on July 16. Pre-orders for the game will start shortly after the Nintendo eShop launch.
  • Mario Golf:Super Rush: Get ready for the latest game in the Mario Golf series, coming to Nintendo Switch this year. In Mario Golf: Super Rush, players can play golf on the most beautiful courses with famous characters from the Mushroom Kingdom. Mario Golf: Super Rush features several local and online multiplayer modes, including Speedgolf, where all players start at the same time to get the ball into the hole as quickly as possible. The game also features an Adventure Mode, where the player’s Mii will compete against characters from the Mushroom Kingdom, earning experience points along the way to improve the character’s abilities. You can also play the game with the motion controls by holding the Joy-Con controller like a golf club. The game will hit Nintendo Switch on June 25.
  • Project TRIANGLE STRATEGY (working title): Perfectly part of SQUARE ENIX’s celebrated series of tactical RPGs, this game takes place on terrain with elevation changes. Characters’ attack range depends on their position and their weapon, so it’s important to study the battlefield before taking any action. In addition, your decisions affect how the story unfolds and which characters join you. Project TRIANGLE STRATEGY (working title) will be released exclusively for Nintendo Switch in 2022. A free demo of the game will be available from Nintendo eShop on Nintendo Switch later today.
  • Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout: Be the last Fall Guy left! In this popular party game, up to 60 players try to fall, slide and run to victory. Dive into a series of crazy challenges and assault courses online with tons of other players. After each round, players drop out and eventually only one can tumble to victory. Some challenges you play alone and others as a team, where the losing team is eliminated! Can you win the crown? Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout will be released for Nintendo Switch this summer.
  • Star Wars: Hunters: Star Wars: Hunters ™ is all about exciting online multiplayer battles in the universe. Assemble a team of unique and new Star Wars ™ characters, from brave bounty hunters to heroes of the Rebellion and Imperial stormtroopers. Compete against other teams in arenas based on famous Star Wars ™ locations. The free-to-play Star Wars: Hunters, set between Star Wars ™: Return of the Jedi and Star Wars ™: The Force Awakens, will be released in 2021.
  • MONSTER HUNTER RISE: During the Rampage, a new story event in MONSTER HUNTER RISE, hunters team up to defeat a horde of monsters that threaten to destroy Kamura Village. As already announced, for players who want to fully immerse themselves in the world of MONSTER HUNTER RISE, a Nintendo Switch MONSTER HUNTER RISE Edition is available, which comes with a MONSTER HUNTER RISE download code, plus the Deluxe Kit DLC and bonus content. This bundle, like the game, will be released on March 26. On the same day, the Nintendo Switch Pro controller MONSTER HUNTER RISE Edition will also be released. This controller is adorned with design elements from Magnamalo, the game’s flagship monster.
  • Miitopia: Go on a hilarious adventure with your friends, family, or whoever you want and prevent the lord of the dark from stealing more faces. In Miitopia, a fully customizable Nintendo Switch adventure, you can create Mii characters and give them the look you want, then determine their role in the story. Extensive customization options including wigs and makeup let you beautify your Mii characters more than ever before! By the way, you can also get a horse as an ally (don’t look in the mouth!). Which Miis will you choose as your ally… and who will become the evil lord of the dark? The light-hearted Miitopia will be released for Nintendo Switch on May 21.   • Knockout City: Team up and take on rival teams in Knockout City ™, where you settle scores in epic dodgeball battles. Throw, catch, pass, dodge and tackle your way to dodgeball hegemony. Knockout City will be released for Nintendo Switch on May 21.
  • DC Super Hero Girls: Teen Power: Based on the hit Cartoon Network show, this game lets you play as a teen version of one of the many classic DC superheroes, including Batgirl, Supergirl and Wonder Woman. They must survive high school while the city must be saved from evil. Each superhero has her own special abilities, such as certain gadgets or the ability to fly. As your adolescent alter ego, you can explore Metropolis, take selfies with your besties to share in-game on Superstapost, or help rebuild a run-down part of the city. DC Super Hero Girls: Teen Power hits Nintendo Switch on June 4. Pre-orders begin after the presentation on Nintendo eShop.
  • Famicom Detective Club: The Missing Heir / Famicom Detective Club: The Girl Who Stands Behind: Two of Nintendo’s little-known gems from Japan are coming to Europe for the first time, with English screen text and updated for Nintendo Switch. Suspense, drama and plot twists lurk everywhere in these two games. Discover the deadly truth in Famicom Detective Club: The Missing Heir and Famicom Detective Club: The Girl Who Stands Behind, available as a bundle from Nintendo eShop on May 14. Pre-orders for the games begin today from Nintendo eShop on Nintendo Switch.
  • Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville Complete Edition: Ready the juice cannons and battle it out in Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville Complete Edition – the craziest shooter ever! Play with up to three friends and walk around in Pleasant Park, or dive into 8v8 multiplayer in Graaien Areas. Take to battle alone or in online multiplayer mode, plunge into a plant-zombie conflict that will take you to every corner of Neighborville.   • Apex Legends: This free-to-play battle royale features a growing roster of characters called Legends, strategic combat, cross-platform play support, and more. In honor of the game’s legendary release, all players on Nintendo Switch will receive a new Legendary Pathfinder skin and 30 free levels for Season 8: Mayhem Battle Pass. Plus, you can earn double XP for up to two weeks after release if you play on Nintendo Switch. Fight for wealth, fame and glory when Apex Legends releases for Nintendo Switch on March 9.
  • Legend of Mana: The hit JRPG classic Legend of Mana from SQUARE ENIX comes to Europe with remastered HD graphics, rearranged music, and other features. Experience the timeless story when Legend of Mana sees the light of day on Nintendo Switch on June 24.
  • Outer Wilds: In the acclaimed and award-winning Outer Wilds, you are the newest member of Outer Wilds Ventures, a new space program looking for answers in a strange, constantly evolving solar system. Pilot a spaceship to travel to planets where remnants of an extinct civilization can be found in a variety of locations that change over time. Get out there and put the pieces together to unravel the mystery before the time loop ends. Outer Wilds lands on Nintendo Switch this summer.
  • SAMURAI WARRIORS 5: Dive into the Sengoku era and discover the stories of Nobunaga Oda and Mitsuhide Akechi in SAMURAI WARRIORS 5, featuring updated character designs and a vibrant, illustrated art style. The game is making its way to the Nintendo Switch this summer.
  • World’s End Club: The creators of the cult classic Danganronpa and Zero Escape series come up with a fight for your life… literally! You and 11 others, known as the Go-Getters Club, embark on an immersive journey through Japan in an adventure that blends side-scrolling action with a thrilling story. On your journey back to Tokyo, there are parts you have to do alone, while other times you have to work with the others to overcome challenges and defeat monsters. World’s End Club will be released for Nintendo Switch on May 28.
  • Animal Crossing: New Horizons + Super Mario Bros. 35th Anniversary: Items commemorating the 35th anniversary of Super Mario Bros. to Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Familiar items such as the Super Mushroom and the? Block can be bought in-game as furniture, so you can place them wherever you want. You can even place multiple warp tubes on your island to quickly travel from one place to another. The new Super Mario Bros. items will be available on March 1, after the free update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons is released on February 25.
  • Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity: Continue your quest to save Hyrule with new downloadable content – two loads of DLC come with the Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity Expansion Pass. With the two waves of DLC, which will be released in June and November respectively, new characters, levels and more will be added. Players who purchase this Expansion Pass from Nintendo eShop for $ 19.99 will receive both waves of DLC as soon as they are released. In addition, starting May 28, buyers will receive an additional weapon and costume for Link as a purchase bonus in-game. The Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity Expansion Pass will be available shortly after the launch.
  • Ghosts’ n Goblins Resurrection: As the brave knight Arthur, use weapons, magical spells and skills to defeat monsters in challenging levels within the Demon Kingdom. For the first time in the series, a local co-op mode is now also available. Help Arthur on his adventure with one of three auxiliary characters: Barry offers protection, Kerry takes you from A to B and Archie builds bridges. Ghosts’ n Goblins Resurrection comes to life on Nintendo Switch on February 25. Pre-orders for the game are available now.
  • Capcom Arcade Stadium:Many of Capcom’s popular arcade classics are coming to Nintendo Switch as part of Capcom Arcade Stadium. Rewind games, adjust game speed and difficulty, and choose from a variety of display options to get that nostalgic feel. You get 1943 – The Battle of Midway for free, then you can purchase game packs or the separately sold Ghosts’ n Goblins add-on to complete your collection. Prior to the release of Ghosts ‘n Goblins on February 25, the original Ghosts’ n Goblins will be available as an add-on for free at Capcom Arcade Stadium. After that release, the Ghosts’ n Goblins add-on will be available separately or as part of the Capcom Arcade Stadium all-in-one package.
  • No More Heroes 3: As the hit man Travis Touchdown, fight your way to the top of the Superhero Ranking tournament with your Beam Katana to save the world. But … you also fight against aliens ?! With a new Death Glove, you have a variety of deadly abilities that you can customize and upgrade for each battle. No More Heroes 3 is coming to Nintendo Switch on August 27.
  • Neon White: Neon White is a lightning-fast first-person action game in which you must exterminate demons in the sky. You are White, an assassin from hell who has been chosen to battle other demons for the chance to live permanently in heaven. The other hitmen look familiar … did you know them in a previous life? Developed by the creator of Donut County, Neon White will be released for Nintendo Switch in winter 2021.
  • BRAVELY DEFAULT II: Save the crystals and the continent of Excillant with the help of the four Heroes of Light! You can check out the BRAVELY DEFAULT II – Final Trailer ahead of the game’s release on February 26. There is also a new free demo of Bravely Default II available to play on Nintendo eShop now.
  • Tales from the Borderlands: Return to rugged Pandora in Tales from the Borderlands. The Nintendo Switch version of the game features all five episodes, rich with classic Borderlands characters and humor. Gangsters, Gang Leaders and Vault Hunters are just a few examples of the many obstacles you will face in this narrative adventure full of choices. The game will be released on March 24.
  • Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse: In this recurring action game from Aspyr, you build up a horde of zombies to take revenge on the city by adding humans to your undead army. Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse eats its way to Nintendo Switch on March 16. Pre-orders are available now on Nintendo eShop.
  • Hades: The winner of several Game of the Year awards will receive a game card version for Nintendo Switch. This physical version includes some nice extras, including a PC soundtrack download code and a 32-page character handbook with portraits of the colorful cast of gods, ghosts and monsters. And the game itself, with countless hours of spectacular gameplay and a gripping story, should of course not be missing. The physical version of Hades will be released on March 19.
  • NINJA GAIDEN: Master Collection: Three spectacular titles from the acclaimed NINJA GAIDEN series are coming to Nintendo Switch in NINJA GAIDEN: Master Collection. Take on the role of legendary ninja Ryu Hayabusa and use an arsenal of deadly weapons, each with a unique playstyle, and vicious ninjutsu to take down enemies in a flash. The NINJA GAIDEN: Master Collection will be released for Nintendo Switch on June 10.
  • SaGa Frontier Remastered: Eight main characters, eight immersive journeys. In this remastered version of the classic RPG SaGa Frontier, you travel through a breathtaking sci-fi world with one of the main characters, each with their own motivation and ambition. With a new playable character, scintillating battles and new events, SaGa Frontier Remastered is an adventure not to be missed. The game will be released for Nintendo Switch on April 15.
