Nutanix announced new ransomware protection features that protect the IT environments of the company’s cloud platform customers. Threat monitoring and detection, granular data replication, and tight access controls—all built into the Nutanix stack.
Nutanix increases protection against ransomware
A Gartner survey reports how in 2020 “Ransomware has evolved beyond common and widespread attacks aimed at infecting a single endpoint to include more advanced techniques, such as fileless malware and data exfiltration”. For this reason Nutanix wanted to strengthen the security of its platform. A form of protection against customers’ IT environments, now even more secure.
The new capabilities are all based on the company’s data-rich services that help prevent, detect and neutralize malware threats. Machine learning and Nutanix IP reputation services enable you to monitor your network with Flow Security Central. In fact, this service can identify known attack vectors, even potential ransomware, blocking them at the network level before they can reach applications and data.
Nutanix Files detects anonymous access patterns, identifying and blocking ransomware before it has access to your data. Data recovery is also made easier with the snapshot functionality, made more secure and flexible with enabled control over file shares.
Greater data and application protection
To further protect your data is Nutanix Objects, which offers the ability to configure WORM (Write Once Read Many) for individual files and objects. In this you can inhibit unauthorized deletion or encryption of data, making it impossible for ransomware to function.
But that’s not all: Nutanix also offers Mine, the solution to ensure business continuity with a secondary storage that directly provides a backup of Obeycts.
