ASUS officially unveiled a gaming smartphone ROG Phone 3… Full details are below.
It is based on an eight core Snapdragon 865 Plus 3.1 GHz frequency and support for 5G networks. According to the president Qualcomm, this version is 10% faster than all smartphones previously released on this chip.
To cool it down, a radiator was used six times more than on the second version. In addition, as in previous models, an external active cooler will be provided with the device, located approximately in the center of the case.
ROG Phone 3 display supports 144Hz with 1ms latency. In this case, we are talking about a ten-bit HDR display based on AMOLED. Especially in ASUS emphasize the low pressure response time – about 18 ms, while the competition OnePlus 8 Pro it is 51 ms.
ROG Phone 3’s battery capacity will be 6,000mAh, which should be enough for around 9.2 hours of gaming PUBG… For example, according to ASUS, the same OnePlus only lasts 6.5 hours, and Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra – 6.6 hours. Note that the phone’s charging port is located on the side edge approximately in the middle, so that the wire does not interfere when playing in horizontal mode.
We are also promised excellent sound with plenty of bass and normal stereo. In this case, ASUS put two speakers in the front at the same time. As in previous versions, ultrasonic “keys” will appear on the left side, which can function both as usual and as touch buttons.
The front camera will receive a 24 MP sensor. There will be three sensors on the back. The first is a 64 MP wide angle. The second is also “shirik”, but already at 13 MP. The third is for macro photography, but its resolution is not specified. We also note the presence of a very directional microphone near the cameras, which in theory should pick up sound better than the usual.
Naturally, ASUS promises support for all old accessories. Remember that a gamepad, a case with a second screen and a TV docking station could be purchased for a smartphone. Some of them have been updated for the new version. For example, the “box with a second display” received a new 144Hz display. In addition, the company will release an adapter for standard Xbox controllers.
It will all be expensive. For the version with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal memory, they will ask for 64,000 rubles. For the higher version with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of SSD – 88,000 rubles. Interestingly, by the way, in some countries this amount will include a three-month subscription to Google Stadia…
