- OnePlus has not only planned a few smartphones for this year.
- A first tablet from the manufacturer is also to appear.
- The launch is said to be imminent.
Android tablets seem to be on the rise again. After Samsung’s trio of flagships a few weeks ago, other manufacturers are also trying their hand at devices with screens over 7 inches. Realme recently launched its debut with the Realme Pad, but OnePlus also has a tablet in the works: the OnePlus Pad.

OnePlus Pad: Slimmed down Samsung Galaxy Tab S8+
Thanks to a leak, practically all specifications have now appeared for this. Accordingly, the OnePlus Pad will be a fairly large piece with a 12.4-inch OLED screen (Full HD+), which corresponds to the diagonal of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8+. Under the hood, however, OnePlus shifts down a gear with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 and combines the SoC with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage.

There is no mention of a microSD slot so far, but I wouldn’t completely rule it out. A 3.5 millimeter jack for headphones is almost confirmed. At 10,090 mAh, the battery is the same size as in the Tab S8+ and can also be recharged with 45 watts.
Additional details on the spec sheet include a dual-cam setup of 13 MP and 5 MP sensors on the back and an 8 MP selfie camera on the front. According to the extensive leaks, a fingerprint sensor is installed on the side. The OnePlus Pad should appear with Android 12 (or Android 12L) ex works.

Will the OnePlus Pad come out in Europe?
In addition to a 5G variant, which the leak reports, there should also be a pure Wi-Fi variant. The price is said to be 2,999 yuan, the equivalent of about 430 euros, the Wi-Fi version should be a little less. I wouldn’t completely rule out a launch in Europe, although the OnePlus Pad could also be reserved for China.

OnePlus Pad: is this the way to go?
It remains to be seen whether a bunch of new hardware and now a completely new device class will warm the hearts of former OnePlus fans. Most recently, the manufacturer, who was once celebrated as an underdog, had to take a lot of criticism, mainly because of a smashed update. Would you buy a OnePlus tablet?
