OPPO will launch multiple breakthrough fast charging technologies at MWC 2022.
At Mobile World Congress 2022 in Barcelona, OPPO today announced two breakthroughs in fast charging technology: 150W SUPERVOOC with Battery Health Engine (BHE) and 240W SUPERVOOC. The ultra-fast 150W SUPERVOOC fast charging technology with BHE can maintain 80% of the original charging capacity after a whopping 1,600 charge cycles, doubling the industry standard. In addition, 240W SUPERVOOC marks the latest technological breakthrough in the mobile phone industry, making it possible to charge a 4500mAh battery from 1% to 100% in a very short time of just 9 minutes.

150W SUPERVOOC with BHE: advanced charging efficiency
150W SUPERVOOC with BHE evolved from the industry-leading 125W SUPERVOOC fast charging technology and uses direct charging technology with two charging pumps that can support charging up to 20V/7.5A.
150W SUPERVOOC with BHE can charge a 4500mAh battery from 1% to 50% in 5 minutes
and all the way to 100% in just 15 minutes
In addition, 150W SUPERVOOC with BHE uses gallium nitride (GaN) to shrink the adapter to nearly the same size as the previous generation 65W SUPERVOOC adapter, measuring 58 x 57 x 30mm and weighing approximately 172 grams.
The power density is 1.51 W/cm3, which is much higher than the industry average.
Battery Health Engine: faster than fast
To improve all-round charging, the 150W SUPERVOOC fast charger features the Battery Health Engine, which is powered by OPPO’s custom battery management chip and includes two key technologies: Smart Battery Health algorithm and Battery Healing technology. Together they improve battery health, safety and performance by optimizing hardware and software.
The Smart Battery Health algorithm can monitor the electrical potential across the negative electrodes in the battery in real time. It dynamically adjusts the charging current within a reasonable margin, minimizing the occurrence of dead lithium while maintaining the maximum charging current. In this way, a healthier battery life and a faster charging speed can be guaranteed.
Battery Healing technology optimizes battery life from within the internal system. By improving the electrolyte formula, the electrodes are continuously repaired during the battery’s charge and discharge cycles. This forms a more stable and durable Solid Electrolyte Interface (SEI), which effectively protects the electrode material from damage caused by solvent molecules. Charging also improves the cycling performance of the electrodes. In addition, the damage done to the electrodes due to charging and discharging is reduced, increasing battery performance and extending its life.
Battery life in the smartphone industry is measured by the number of charge cycles. Most phones on the market can maintain 80% after 800 cycles of charge from empty to full. OPPO has doubled that to 1600 times.
BHE will be integrated into most mid-range and high-end OPPO smartphones in the future, resulting in higher security, efficiency and durability for users.
240W SUPERVOOC: the next generation of fast charging
Due to the growing demand for lightning-fast charging solutions in the era of intelligent 5G connectivity, OPPO introduces 240W-SUPERVOOC, pushing fast charging boundaries. Designed with 24V/10A technology on a Type-C interface, 240W-SUPERVOOC is capable of super-fast charging a 4500mAh battery to 100% in about 9 minutes. It features three charge pumps and enough power supply to convert the handsets to 10V/24A. 240W-SUPERVOOC meets existing appliance specifications and has been tested for heat dissipation, ensuring optimum efficiency and increased safety. In addition, the battery’s industry-leading discharge rating allows the hardware to support up to 240W.
By taking a holistic approach to the safety of the adapter, charging cable and smartphone, OPPO minimizes potential security risks and provides an efficient and safe charging solution:
- 240W-SUPERVOOC adopts five safety measures and a specially adapted intelligent control chip that regulates voltage, current and temperature to provide a safe charging solution.
- A custom battery safety monitoring chip monitors whether the mobile phone battery is damaged by external forces during use.
- Temperature protection is enhanced through 13 temperature sensors installed in the phone, reducing the chance of overheating and preventing anomalies.
