Ozone Strike Battle, we analyze this excellent mechanical keyboard.
Contents
Mechanical keyboards are excellent allies for all those people who write a lot on the computer as a server and who want both comfort and improve their typing speed and, why not, reduce the number of mistakes that we all make from time to time by not having a comfortable keyboard that suits us (and we him).
As you will remember in this entry, I had already had my eye on the Ozone Strike Battle, a compact mechanical keyboard with very good appearance and excellent references in the forums. At work I use Windows as an operating system and according to the manufacturer only this operating system is supported. But at home I use Mac. Will it be compatible? I am going to analyze the keyboard in both operating systems and we will leave doubts.

Unpacking and writing test
In the box of the Ozone Strike Battle we are not going to find many elements, only the keyboard, a sticker of the brand and an instruction manual with the basic information of the keyboard and the download of the configuration and macro definition software for windows.
Let’s go with the keyboard. To highlight its compact size, where all the external keys are flush with the edges, which is really a blessing for desks that do not have much space and also to take it with us if we wish. And also say that this does not affect the comfort of writing at all. The keys have a good touch and are made of ABS. Although the bottom of the keyboard is made of plastic, the top is a piece of aluminum and makes the keyboard look really cool.

The keys can be easily removed allowing us to clean the keyboard thoroughly and comfortably. If we do, we see that the keyboard has the well-known Cherry MX Brown push buttons, suitable for both gaming and typing. The result is a very pleasant touch, where we do not have to press the key all the way to enter the desired character and to which we will have to get used to it a bit, since the first impulse is to push the key to its maximum extent and it is not necessary . The keys have a good “feedback” both tactile and sound.
The keyboard has lighting functions configurable thanks to a combination of keys. We cannot forget that it is a keyboard that is sold for gaming, but it is a function that comes in handy for when we work at night and, why not, to give a colorful touch to our desktop. In addition to the lighting functions mentioned, we can adjust other parameters such as the repetition time when we hold down a key and the sampling frequency (between 1 and 16 milliseconds and 125 and 100 Hz, respectively).

The keyboard has worked the first time when connected to the Mac without having to do anything, except for the assignment of two keys that were incorrect
Windows and also Mac OS X?
The keyboard works right out of the box in Windows without the need to install drivers or their software. Obviously if we are gamers we will want to get all the juice out of it, so Ozone has prepared a software package from which we can program macros. Specifically we have available 30 macros organized in five different profileslaunchable with a combination of keys.

These macros can also come in handy when it comes to saving keystrokes. The advantage is that since they are stored in the 64KB keyboard memorywe can always take the keyboard with us to another computer and enjoy them.
As we can see in Windows we can enjoy Ozone Strike Battle without problems, but what about Mac OS X? I have El Capitan installed on my Macbook Pro. Despite having read the opposite in the forums, something that made me not buy the keyboard directly, I have to say that the keyboard worked the first time when connected to the Mac. Simply OS X will ask us to identify the keyboard by pressing the keys that are to the right and to the left of the capital letters and we will be ready. The multimedia functions that the keyboard has in its first row also work correctly.
The Ozone Strike Battle is an excellent keyboard that will meet your expectations whether you are a frequent gamer or need a comfortable keyboard to type on.

The only weird thing is that the key that is labeled major and minor is actually mapped to “º”, and the “º” key to “
And if you want place the control keys like on the Mac keyboardnothing simpler than to change the alt and Windows keys on the keyboard from place and go to the System and keyboard preferences and reassign them.
I don’t know if other keyboards won’t really work first time on Mac as I’ve seen on the forums, but if so, you’ll have to follow the instructions to make the keyboard work on Mac OS X.

Ozone Strike Battle, the opinion of SamaGame Smart Home
The Ozone Strike Battle is an excellent keyboard that will meet your expectations whether you are a frequent gamer or if you need a comfortable keyboard to type. It will also do it whether you are a Windows or Mac user (in my case without having to do anything). The keyboard has a compact size by giving up the number block and, if you can do without those keys, you will gain comfort of use in small spaces and the possibility of taking it with you if you wish.
Keyboard Ozone Strike Battle has an official price of 89.90 euros and is available on their website (with free shipping). You can also find it with other types of buttons according to its website and therefore with a somewhat different response and finished in red instead of black. Recommended.
We thank Irene Santos from Ozone Strike Battle for lending us a keyboard for the test. You can see the company relations policy here.
