The beginning of the Xiaomi sub-brand – POCO in 2018 was a great success, because that’s where Xiaomi tried hard to do what it does best. Release a smartphone that offers a lot for very little. This was POCO F1 with the flagship Snapdragon 845 and from 6GB to 8GB of RAM for only PLN 1,500.

Two years have passed since the F1 model in 2018, in the meantime POCO has completely separated from Xiaomi, and today (May 12, 2020), we met POCO F2 Pro. We have a flat, hole-free and notch AMOLED screen with a size of 6.67 “and a resolution of 2400 × 1080. We have HDR10 + and refresh the touch panel in 180Hz, refresh the screen itself is standard 60Hz. Under the Gorilla Glass 5 glass and the screen there is an optical fingerprint reader. The display will light up in 800 nits as standard and 1200 nits maximum.

The processor is of course the latest, octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 with a 5G modem – Snapdragon X55. The chip was produced in a 7nm lithographic process. The Adreno 650 GPU will be responsible for the graphics. The device will appear in 2 memory versions: 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of UFS 3.1 ROM and 8GB of LPDDR5 and 256GB of UFS 3.1 ROM. The smartphone, like its predecessor, was equipped with a special heat distribution system LiquidCool Technology 2.0 with an area of 3435 mm². It is made of several layers of graphite, graphene and a steam chamber.

64 Mpix Sony IMX686 with f/1.89 aperture as the main module, the lens by default combines 4 adjacent pixels into 1, as a result of which we get a better photo in 16Mpix. We have known this procedure for some time. POCO F2 Pro is another smartphone on the market that gives you the ability to record videos in 8K and 24FPS. The 13Mpix wide-angle lens has an angle of 123° and an aperture of f/2.4. The macro lens is only 5Mpix and f/2.2 aperture, there is also a 2Mpix depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. The front lens is mechanically retractable and has 20 Mpix.

The smartphone is charged via the USB C connector, using the 33W charger included in the set, although the device itself supports 30W charging. We have support for QuickCharge 4.0+ and Power Delivery 3.0 technologies, and the battery itself has a capacity of 4700mAh.

The device has an NFC module, infrared to control e.g. a TV, 5G, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, USB C connector and minijack. No one should be surprised that we have a slot for 2 nanoSIM cards, it’s hard to find a non-DualSIM smartphone lately. Android 10 with MIUI 11/12 overlay and POCO Launcher 2.0 is installed on the device.

POCO F2 Pro will be available for €499 for the 6/128 version and €599 for the 8/256 version. The device will be available in 4 colors: Cyber Gray, Electric Purple, Phantom White and Neon Blue.
