Pokémon Go gets Seasons, Level 50, Kalos Pokémon – What you need to know about them!
At the end of the year, Niantic lets it really crash again in Pokémon Go. Starting November 30, 2020, “Go Beyond” will be the first update of the game with its own name. Because it’s so sprawling. The biggest update so far in the history of the game, as Niantic emphasized in a press conference yesterday. But what does it bring you? Much!
Seasons bring variety to Pokémon Go
One of the big innovations at the end of the year is the seasons. In other words: Pokémon Go adapts to winter, spring, summer and autumn in the future, the season in the game changes every three months.
This results in the following changes:
- Different Pokémon appear in the wild, in raid battles, and hatch from eggs. Some Pokémon are less common depending on the time of year, so grab them while you can!
- Different Pokémon appear in the northern and southern hemispheres each season. In the first season of the year, for example, winter Pokémon appear in the wild in the northern hemisphere, while summer Pokémon such as Burmy and Flampion appear in the southern hemisphere. But you will notice even more differences in the wild Pokémon!
- Keep your eyes peeled for the seasonal shapes of Sesokitz!
- In-game events depend on the season.
- Seasons are continuously supplemented with new features and content.
The changes also extend to the mega developments and the Go Battle League. New Mega Pokémon appear in raids every season, and certain Mega Pokémon receive a WP boost for a limited time and you have more opportunities to use them.
The ranks in the Go Fighting League will be expanded from 10 to 24. The four best ranks will be given new names and you will receive corresponding medals when you reach them. At the same time, Niantic is revising the reward system with “even more exclusive rewards” that are based on the respective season. The running time is also based on the seasons, so a season in the battle league will run for three months in the future.
The first season begins on December 1, 2020 at 8 a.m. local time, it is the “festive season”. It brings brand new Pokémon and also celebrates the Pokémon from the generations that have been integrated into the game so far.
“A brand new system for global events will be released at the end of the festive season,” says Niantic. “More details will follow soon!”
Finally reach level 50 in Pokémon Go
The second big innovation concerns the trainer level, because you can soon tackle the new maximum level 50. And as suspected, your experience points are not the only factors that would be boring.
This goes hand in hand with the fact that from November 30, 2020 you will receive more XP if you catch, develop, hatch or register Pokémon – depending on the promotion, you will receive double the amount.
Those who reach level 40 by Thursday, December 31, 2020 at 11:59 p.m. local time, will still receive veteran rewards, including a title, the level 40 medal and a limited-term research, including a Gyarados hat can.
“To help you reach your goal faster, you will receive double XP for catching Pokémon from Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at 1 p.m. to Thursday, December 31, 2020 at 11:59 p.m. (local time),” writes Niantic .
We come to the new levels in the range 41 to 50. On the one hand, experience points naturally play a role and if you have already reached level 40 (however long), the EP received since then is not simply lost. But you will not reach level 50 in a flash, every level from 41 requires the fulfillment of additional challenges.
These are more long-term tasks, on a published screenshot of 100 completed field research, snapshots on seven days in a row, 50 fabulous litters and 30 hatched eggs as a prerequisite for level 46, whereby Niantic notes that the information is not necessarily final be.
Meanwhile, the platinum medals, a further level above the previous gold medals, as well as the new XL candies, with which you can improve your Pokémon beyond level 40, are also being introduced – permanently.
The sixth generation comes to Pokémon Go
And last but not least, you will get brand new Pokémon to catch at the end of the year, because the sixth generation from the Kalos region, where the mega-development was also discovered, will make its debut in the game from December 2, 2020.
For you this means that you can catch Pokémon like Igamaro or Fynx, for example, and Pokémon like Quajutsu and Fiaro are finally available. And Pyroleo appears in both forms.
The following Pokémon will be added to the game on December 2, 2020:
- Clavion (only in France)
For the arrival of the new Pokémon, of course, you can expect a corresponding event, which runs from December 2 to 8, 2020. More details will follow.
And also: “It looks like a Mysterious Pokémon is preparing to hatch from a level 1 raid egg soon! We’ll keep you posted on our social media channels about the condition of this ice. We may also need it your help to hatch it faster. “
