His female counterpart is Latias, both of whom form the legendary duo Aeon, located in the Hoenn region.

Everything we know about Latios
Latios first appeared in Africa and America in Pokémon Go in April 2018. It was involved in raids until May 2018 before swapping regions with Latias and becoming available in Europe and Asia.
The legendary Pokémon was also available during field breakthroughs and during special raid events.
Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire were the first Pokémon games in the main series to introduce Latios. It could be seen in ruby, but only taken in sapphire if the player had an Eon ticket. These tickets were only available during special distribution events or using the Äon-Ticket electronic card with the electronic reader for the Game Boy Advance.
Latios shares its category – aeon – with Latis, hence their nickname: the duo aeon.
