PS5 is now around the corner and gamers are eager to get their hands on the next-gen console Sony.

However, it seems that players will not be able to buy PS5 in physical stores in Italy at launch. Sony has recently confirmed that the console will only be available for online sale.

As we can read on the official PlayStation blog, “in order to comply with the security protocols for the COVID-19 emergency and safeguard players, retailers and the personnel involved, we want to confirm that on the day of the launch (November 19) purchases will be available only through the online stores of our partner retailers“.

No units will be available for purchase in stores on launch day November 19th“.

Sony urges players not to create unnecessary files outside of stores when trying to purchase a PS5 and urges players to stay home and place their order online.

“Anyone who has placed a pre-order with collection in the store should still be able to proceed in this way, but only by appointment, in compliance with the security protocols in force. Contact your dealer to confirm the details“concludes Sony’s blog post.
