It’s not uncommon to have a Skype account these days. Whether you’re sitting at your PC or trying to communicate with others on your mobile, the billion-dollar VoIP service has become the de facto standard for making audio and video calls. But while it is quite useful in what it offers, the app has never promoted any option to record the calls you make through it. There are so many good reasons why you might want to record a Skype call, but there aren’t many free apps that let you do this, especially when it comes to recording video calls. Recording a Skype voice call is quite simple as the web is full of quality applications for recording audio calls. is the best way to do it. It is free to download and allows you to record the calls you make with Skype quite easily. It works on all Windows operating systems and offers premium audio quality.
After downloading and installing the application on your computer, you will notice its icon in the system tray on the taskbar. Double-clicking allows you to open the main application window.
The program has an easy to understand interface. In its interface you will find an option to specify the output directory where the recorded voice calls will be saved. The app stores all calls in MP3 format, which means that most devices and media players will play it without any problem. You can also control some recording settings such as sample rate, bitrate, and recording mode through the corresponding dropdown menus.
To get started, click the ON button in MP3 Skype Recorder.
Now navigate to the Skype desktop client and start the voice call with the required recipient by clicking the green Call button in the app.
Then a small pop-up notification will appear in the lower right corner of the desktop indicating that the recording process has started and is recording. The notification shows you and your recipient’s Skype ID.
When you end a call in Skype (after clicking the red button), the recording will be automatically saved to the destination folder and you can play it in any media player app of your choice.

Skype also provides its users with the option of video calls and if you need to record them as well, then it provides a nifty solution. Unlike the billions of paid apps available on the internet that usually limit recording to a few minutes in the free trial, this app offers unlimited video recording.
Warning: During installation, the setup program attempts to download and install additional, unwanted software. However, you can easily prevent this by unchecking and declining such offers when prompted.
Free Video Call Recorder for Skype has a very simple interface. It features record, pause/stop buttons and displays the timer to indicate the duration of the call being recorded. Allows you to record picture-in-picture videos of all contacts (including yourself). But you can also choose to limit it to recipients side only, as well as record only call audio by specifying your preferred method via the dropdown menu.
You can navigate to the Application Options window and modify more settings in the Video Audio and Output tabs as you wish. If allows you to specify the video codec, for example, and you can change the bitrate for audio and video, or adjust the frame rate and sample rate of the file.
Recording a video call with this application is quite simple. When the app is running, launch Skype and start the video call.
Go back to Free Video Call Recorder and hit the Record button. This will start the recording process and you can record the call for as long as you want. Once this is done, click ‘Stop’ to save the output.
