Admittedly Red Dead Online offers a whole bunch of good reasons to take a ride into the wide world of Red Dead Redemptions 2s online multiplayer to dare. One of the most appealing things for many of you, however, is the opportunity to play together with friends. Nothing against unknown, new Internet acquaintances, but RDR2 is basically knitted around a collaborative experience, so you will likely spend a lot of time with other cowboys. And that should ideally be people you know and like.
Rockstar knows about this, of course, and therefore puts as few obstacles in your way as possible when it comes to inviting other players and joining a group of daring outlaws. However, there are a few small things to consider. Therefore, in the following guide you will find out which conditions you have to meet to play co-op with friends in Red Dead Online and what else you need to consider.
Invite friends, have fun – the Red Dead online bill is that simple.

The good news in advance: It doesn’t take long before you can specifically team up with friends. All you have to do is complete the first Red Dead Online story mission, in which you and three other players steal a few horses. After that you already switch yours first camp free, which is the requirement to invite friends, join other games, etc.
Then you just proceed as follows:
And that’s about it. Now you can play with your friends and do what you do in Red Dead Online.
The online multiplayer of Red Dead Redemption 2 is only in top form in co-op with friends.
Does Red Dead Online support crossplay?
A few years ago you would hardly have dared to ask this question, but now that several titles have made cross-platform games possible (the most prominent representative by far is Fortnite), it suddenly no longer seems impossible, Red Dead Redemption 2 Online to play via crossplay. The question of the price is of course: is that possible? And if not, what are the chances that this will change in the medium term?
Unfortunately, there isn’t a single piece of good news to report on this front. Developer Rockstar disregards any questions in this direction – and it doesn’t appear that the studio is doing this to keep any secrets. Rather, a crossplay option is simply not on Rockstar’s to-do list. Incidentally, it would be rash to pass the buck directly to Rockstar: Crossplay often fails not because of the developer in question, but rather to the console manufacturers (in this case Microsoft and Sony), one or more of whom have something against their system with another connect.
