Trap white lightning as a black market bootlegger in Moonshiners, the latest Frontier pursuit now available in Red Dead Online. Team up with a notorious distiller to start your own Moonshining business and move out of the new Shack premises.
Moonshining takes your Trader skills to the next level and gives you your first business outside of camp. Not only will you have to source ingredients and produce the goods, savvy Moonshiners will learn the demands of the market and tailor their shipments to buyers’ tastes. With that in mind, Moonshining requires you to cut your teeth as a trader, after reaching at least rank 5 or completing a trader mission. Once that’s accomplished, Cripps will put you in touch with Maggie Fike at Emerald Ranch, an old hand in the bootleg business who will help you get your new operation up and running.
To run a good shine business – not some Lemoyne Raiders backcountry operations – you need a place to live. Contact Maggie to purchase one of the five Moonshining Shacks you will run your business with. After you find your cook and equipment, Maggie keeps the front of the house upstairs while the art of distillation takes place downstairs. The basement has space for optional expansions, including a bar, room for a band and a dance floor, with additional upgrades for your moonshining equipment.
Your trading journey also offers a new series of Story Missions that you can take on alone or with your Posse, as Maggie Fike helps you build your business and get a little revenge along the way. Each mission gives you benefits to advance your business as you eliminate rivals, learn new recipes and build a loyal customer base. Expand your fast-growing business by developing and distributing different blends across the five states. You can also serve guests directly while entertaining friends by expanding with your own bar.
Like all Specialist Roles, the Moonshiner features its own unique path that unlocks custom clothing and accessories, equipment upgrades to improve the business, new weapons such as the Flammable Moonshine Jug and a unique ornamental design for the Sawed-Off Shotgun, new horse breeds and Lake.
The Outlaw Pass returns with an expanded 100 ranks of new rewards featuring all-new clothing and accessories, Role XP boosts during the Club membership period, and Gold Gifts of up to 40 gold bars. You will also receive a variety of offers and rewards, a new feature in Red Dead Online which is further described below.
In addition, it gives free Wheeler, Rawson and Co. Club membership entitles you to select additional benefits as you accumulate XP until March 10, 2020. All Red Dead Online players are automatically enrolled in the Wheeler, Rawson and Co. Club just by playing.

Offers and Rewards is a new feature in Red Dead Online that can be found on the Benefits page in the pause menu. The Offers & Rewards page displays your collection of gifts, discounts, and promotions that can be applied to various goods. Rewards include gifts such as gold bars, refills on Trader and Moonshiner Business supplies, apparel items and accessories, and other freebies, while offers include discounts on select items. Visit the benefits page regularly to see the latest offers, rewards and ongoing promotions from Red Dead Online from week to week.
Today’s update to Red Dead Online also includes new clothing including Bandoliers and Corsets (with more items arriving in the coming weeks), a powerful new sidearm in the Navy Revolver, and more in addition to improvements and improvements to gameplay as we go. keep building and refine the game world. Among many other improvements, today’s update adds:
- The ability to quick-swap weapons in the heat of battle – simply assign a “Quick Select” firearm within the Weapon Wheel, then tap L1/LB/Tab during gameplay to quickly switch between this and your currently-equipped weapon (you can still holster your weapon with a double tap of L1/LB/Tab or by selecting Unarmed in the Weapon Wheel)

Moonshiners is now available in Red Dead Online for PS4, Xbox One and PC – and coming to Google Stadia later this month.
