Resident Evil 3 remake revealed by Capcom

Today in the PlayStation State of Play broadcast, Capcom celebrated the 20th anniversary of survival horror classic Resident Evil 3: Nemesis by revealing the complete reimagining. resident Evil 3. Following the award-winning Resident Evil 2, this much-requested sequel to the franchise that has sold over 94 million units once again utilizes Capcom’s proprietary RE Engine to close out the Raccoon City story arc.

Resident Evil 3 features Jill Valentine – one of video games’ most iconic heroines – as she escapes a crumbling Raccoon City while being pursued by the relentless bioweapon Nemesis. Players can also participate in Umbrella’s previously undocumented experiments outside Raccoon City in the also included asymmetrical online multiplayer game Resident Evil Resistance, formerly known by the working title of Project Resistance. Resident Evil 3 takes place during the nightmare outbreak of the T-Virus, a biological agent developed by the pharmaceutical company Umbrella Corporation. The game marks the debut of Nemesis, a humanoid bioweapon designed with great intelligence and brutality, whose relentless pursuit of STARS agent Jill Valentine has made him an icon of the Resident Evil series. Armed with an arsenal of powerful gear and cloaked in a trench coat to hide his mutilated parts, Nemesis slashes, pulverizes or destroys any obstacles between him and his target.

Jill’s desperate escape takes place in the panicked hours before and after the events of the critically acclaimed bestseller Resident Evil 2. Intense combat and puzzle solving combine in the thrilling final chapter of Raccoon City. The terrifying setting of the original game and new content come to life with the RE Engine, previously used to create the acclaimed Resident Evil 7 biohazard, Resident Evil 2 and Devil May Cry 5 with high definition graphics and modern gameplay mechanics.

Complementing the action of the single-player campaign is also included Resident Evil Resistance, an asymmetric 4 vs. online multiplayer game. 1 originally revealed as a draft working title during the Tokyo Game Show recently. As the Villain behind the scenes, players can take on the roles of key characters from the Resident Evil series, such as Annette Birkin, in a series of deadly experiments. Manipulate the environment and use a deck of cards to place ferocious creatures, place traps and set up security cameras to hunt down the hapless Survivors.

For the first time in the franchise, Villains can even directly control elite bioweapons like the G-Birkin or Tyrant. In turn, the Survivors must work together efficiently, taking full advantage of each character’s diverse weapons and unique special abilities to stand a chance of escaping the experiment before time runs out.
