Resident Evil 4: model Ella Freya is the new face of Ashley in the remake

O remake of Resident Evil 4 was announced last week, leaving fans of the series quite excited — and, let’s be fair, a little worried — about the prospect of a retelling of Leon’s classic adventure in the Spanish countryside. As you’d expect, a lot of things in the game will be different, including the look of enemies, various locations and, of course, the main and secondary characters.

In the teaser trailer announcing the reimagining of RE4one of the figures that showed up and is clearly very different was ashley graham, who in the game is the daughter of the US president and must be rescued from a kidnapping. Not much is known yet about the size of the character’s participation in the new version of the game, but we’ve already seen that the girl’s design has changed a lot: the blonde is now based on a Dutch model called Ella Freya.

Confirmation of the role came from the model herself, who revealed on Twitter that she had lent her look to ashley in Resident Evil 4 Remake.

“I almost cried when I saw the trailer”, said Freya on the social network, stating that she was still “very happy now” that the secret could finally be revealed. “Thank you all, from the bottom of my heart”, thanked the model for the receptivity and positive reaction of the fans of the series.

Ella Freya is originally from Holland but nowadays lives in Japan, where she acts as a model and cosplayer. In addition, she has two channels on YouTube: one in Japanese, where she posts videos about cosplay, games and her daily life in Japanese territory; and the other in English.

Resident Evil 4: model Ella Freya is the new face of Ashley in the remake

In RE4, Leon S. Kennedy is sent to investigate leads on the whereabouts of Ashley, the daughter of the President of the United States, who has been kidnapped and taken to a remote village in Spain. Upon arriving at the place, he discovers that the region is dominated by a strange sect that controls its faithful using a species of parasite known as Las Plagas.

In the original game, it is possible to control Ashley during a short sequence of the adventure, while for most of the time the girl must be protected by the special agent until the pair finally escape safely.

Produced by Capcom using the RE Engine, the same used in the remake of Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 4 Remake is scheduled for release on March 24, 2023 with versions for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
