The company has also shared one of the emotional messages that Altman used to send each week to his employees during the times the confinement, a message full of optimism in which he looks for the positive side even of the hardest moments:

“Last week I mentioned some of the little paleceres that I have discovered on the occasion of confinement. Some of you have talked about your little joys of teleworking: the greater number of birdsong in our patios, quieter streets, adventurous attempts to make bread and ___tails, long walks, time to read …

Although we clearly miss social interaction, we have also gained something valuable. I encourage you to take time for yourself, organize social gatherings online and keep perspective, knowing this will pass.

Tomorrow I encourage you all to toast to the 21st anniversary of our company, and think about the long road we have traveled together. You have done something extraordinary within the reach of few start-ups, a multinational millionaire full of talent at all levels, earning the admiration of our fans and the toughest competition. And you have done well, always faithful to our principles of integrity, respect, team and quality. Don’t let the day go by without taking a moment to enjoy your incredible creation.

I’m looking forward to all of us getting back together. “

Altman was married since 1984 to Lynda Carter, the famous Wonder Woman actress in the television series.

Altman spent much of his career as a lawyer. In 1999 he founded ZeniMax Media with Christopher Weaver, who was the founder of Bethesda. This cluster includes several development studies, such as Bethesda Game Studios (Fallout, The Elder Scrolls), id Software (DOOM, Quake), Arkane (Dishonored, Prey), MachineGames (Wolfenstein, the next Indiana Jones), ZeniMax Online (The Elder Scrolls Online), Tango Gameworks (The Evil Within, Ghostwire Tokyo) and Bethesda Softworks (publisher of the games from the other ZeniMaz studios).

Last September, the company made headlines when it was announced that it would be bought by Microsoft for $ 7.5 billion, an agreement that will be carried out throughout this year, currently under review by the European Union.
