Live from an inflatable jacuzzi, the Weekendwatch reports! Featuring new screens from God of War, rumors of a Modern Warfare 2 remaster, a golden Pikachu and possibly a Killer7 remaster!

New God of War screenshots

Another month then we can get started with the new God of War. The marketing machine is now starting to get going and today I can present you 4 new screenshots. Enjoy!

Yakuza Kiwami 2 is heading west

A pleasant surprise from Sega because Yakuza Kiwami 2 is coming to Europe! On August 28th, we can stuff it into our PS4s. The game will be released digitally and physically with a free steelbook for the Day 1 edition. Kiwami 2 is a remake of Yakuza 2 for PS2 but in the engine of Yakuza 6: The Song of Life. Check out the announcement trailer.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 remaster in the works?

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare already got a remaster that did well. It makes sense that Amazon Italy has leaked a product page for a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 remaster!

The page has since been deleted but the screenshots of Gearnuke still exist. The game will apparently be released on April 30th. Can all be a placeholder of course, so a grain of salt. The first Modern Warfare remaster was initially exclusive to those who pre-ordered the Legacy Edition of Infinite Warfare. If this second remaster is true, let’s hope it doesn’t repeat. The new COD for this year will be Black Ops 4.

Sega teases new Sonic racing game

Sonic platformers have largely lost their luster, but the last two racing games have been great party racers. Reason for a party so that Sega teases a new part in the series. Check out this video for the not too subtle hint.

Interesting to note: according to Sega, it is not officially a sequel to Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed. It could be that they are going for a totally new title or it could be that it’s finally that long-awaited Yakuza racing game we’ve all been waiting for.

Sonic Mania Plus and Sonic Mania animated series announced

More good news about good Sonic games. Sonic Mania is getting a re-release with extra bells and whistles. Sonic Mania Plus will be released this summer for Xbox One, PS4, Switch and PC. There is a new Encore Mode that changes certain levels, 2 new playable characters named Mighty and Ray, and a 4 player competitive mode.

A physical release is planned for Sonic Mania Plus. The best news for fans of the kick- animated intro is that Sega has ordered an animated series from the same team! Sonic Mania Adventures will be a 5-episode continuous story starring Sonic, Tails and Knuckles. They don’t talk because the music has to be cool enough, thanks to Sonic Mania composer Tee Lopes. Check out the trailer below. The first episode should be released for free soon.

All hail the 24 karat gold Pikachu!

A new Pokémon Center is opening in Tokyo along with a new Pokémon Café, and as you’d expect, that’s big news in Japan. Nintendo found some gold bars in the bottom drawer of a desk and melted them down into a golden Pikachu especially for the opening. A 24-karat Pikachu, so nothing, no gold-plated or anything. This is just as gold as Pokémon Gold!

The 50 cm tall Pikachu can be admired at a gold display near the 2 Pokémon locations. The Captivation’s Radiance: Gold Exhibition shows a lot more shiny but Pikachu is the showpiece. Unfortunately it is not for sale, but the organizers have made smaller 24-carat versions. For a golden Pikachu of 5 cm you pay about 4000 euros.

What a worthless consolation prize! I just want that 50cm gold Pikachu! It will go perfectly with my Indiana Jones cosplay!

Crash Brandicoot Nintendo Switch downgrade in picture

The equation you knew was coming is finally here! PS4 game Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy is coming to Nintendo Switch and that means the graphics have been downgraded. The port is also coming to Xbox One and PC, but due to the Switch’s limited hardware, there is a clear difference in the amount of detail. Gearnuke made a GIF in which the lighting is quite different. Especially less colorful.

Of course we can only really compare once the game is out. This will happen simultaneously for all systems on 10 July. It has also previously been discovered that Activision has removed all Naughty Dog logos and references from the port.

“Killer7 and Flower, Sun, and Rain remasters announced by Suda51”

Good news for fans of crazy developer Suda51: the best man has announced that his previous games are going to be getting remasters! It’s about Killer7 and Flower, Sun, and Rain.

The cult hits previously appeared for DS, PS2 and GameCube. Suda51 shared the news at a special event and several attendees confirmed the news via Twitter (Resetera said). An official statement from his studio has not yet been issued and information about release dates and possible systems is also missing. The first No More Heroes got an extensive remaster of Suda51 and he is also working on a new game in that series. To be continued!

Videogamedunkey does Luigi’s Balloon World

Super Mario Odyssey is perfect and with Luigi’s Balloon World it is even more perfect … more! Well okay it might cause a little bit of frustration as Videogamedunkey experiences in its play session. But it’s still fun to watch someone lose their because some players are so good that they hide balloons behind wall glitches.

Wassum again. Have a nice Sunday!
