Rumor: The new Assassin’s Creed is called Mirage and they are making a remake of the first

Assassin’s Creed Mirage would be the official name of the new game in the saga according to a new leak that also ensures that Ubisoft is preparing a remake of the first Assassin’s Creed.

The original leak comes from youtuber j0nathan, although it has later been confirmed (in part) by a source from journalist Jason Schreier (who is the one who uncovered the existence of the new Assassin’s Creed). One of the most relevant leaked details is that the next installment in the saga would be called Assassin’s Creed Mirage according to this youtuber, who also claims to know that it will be set in Baghdad in the 9th century, specifically between the years 860 and 870, during the period of crisis known as ‘the anarchy of Samarra’.

Other details leaked by the youtuber speak of a different approach to the latest Assassin’s Creed games: the new installment would leave aside RPG aspects such as the skill tree, levels, conversations with dialogues and the selection of character sex, since would star Basim, a character from Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, in his youth as a thief.

In this sense, the rumors speak of a return to the roots of the saga, with the return of the eagle’s eye, more importance of the hidden blade and new animations with a much less crude tone than the latest installments. It would have a much more classic vision, similar to the first Assassin’s Creed, of which this youtuber assures that Ubisoft is preparing a remake: the game starring Altair could return with a modernized version that would reuse many of the assets of this supposed Assassin’s Creed Mirage, in fact it would be offered as a DLC for the new game’s season pass, according to the leaks.

There are some of the details leaked by the youtuber that have already been denied by the anonymous source consulted by the journalist Jason Schreier, such as the fact that there are going to be several cities to explore connected by a desert. However, this person assures that a good part of what is leaked is real, although he does not specify what exactly. An important detail is that the game would be released in the spring of 2023, according to this information, specifically between April and June.
