SEGA is celebrating its 60th anniversary and you are entitled to gifts.
In addition to revealing the combination of Yakuza and Street of Rage, called Streets of Kamurocho and which will only be available for 2 days on PC, SEGA revealed the unique opportunity to play a level from a canceled game.
According to SEGA on Steam, between the 18th and 19th of October you will be able to play Golden Axed: A Canceled Prototype, coming directly from the SEGA archives and showing you an unprecedented look at the company’s plans to resurrect one of its most popular series 90’s.
SEGA revealed that in 2010 SEGA Studios Australia started work on a series of projects that would restart several of the company’s renowned properties. 2.5D Reboots for Streets of Rage, Altered Beast, a Shinobi endless runner and a new Golden Ax 2.5D were his projects, which all went down the drain when the studio closed in 2013.
To thank all the support of the fans, SEGA decided to allow access to the prototype of Golden Ax Reborn, a sample of the game that was presented internally to demonstrate to the executives what could be done to update the series. It is a rare artifact to see publicly and will allow you to discover a slice of SEGA’s secret history.
